Egg donation involves a screening process. Not all potential egg donors are selected. Not all selected egg donors receive the monetary amounts or compensation advertised. As with any medical procedure, there may be risks associated with human egg donation. Before an egg donor agrees to begin the egg donation process, and signs a legally binding contract, she is required to receive specific information on the known risks of egg donation.  Consultation with your doctor prior to entering into a donor contract is advised.

AREN'T YOU OFFERING TOO MUCH MONEY?/IS THIS FOR REAL?

Yes, this is real.

Elite Donors represents clients who are financially well off and desire to compensate their selected donor generously for the gift they are providing them with.

There are websites which warn of ads offering large sums of money for donors insinuating that these sites will try to bait and switch the donors into accepting less money for their eggs or insinuating that the candidates personal information will be sold or otherwise displayed on the internet.  Elite Donors does not keep a database of donors.  Your personal information is destroyed if you are not selected and your personal information will never be sold, distributed or displayed.

Please feel free to contact our office with any concerns you may have regarding the legitimacy of our program.

HOW DOES ELITE DONORS DIFFER FROM OTHER EGG DONOR SEARCHES?

To begin with, Elite Donors does not keep or maintain an egg donor database or registry.  It is our belief that each search should be unique and molded to the desires of the recipient.  As such, each client has a personalized search program created to meet the needs of their specific  situation.  These individualized searches result in a higher overall caliber of donor applicants.  They also keep our clients from wasting time looking through stacks and stacks of donors who they would not be interested in.  Because of the unique way our program operates, both clients and potential donors are afforded greater levels of privacy.

3.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY PERSONAL INFORMATION IF I AM NOT SELECTED?

Elite Donors does not maintain an active database or registry of potential donors.  Furthermore, Elite Donors prides itself on its dedication to confidentiality for both donors and recipients.  If you are not selected, your information will be destroyed.  None of your personal or contact information is ever sold or distributed in any manner and you will never be placed on any mailing list.

4.

DO YOU OFFER A FINDERS FEE?

Elite Donors has received many inquires from third parties wanting to collect a finder's fee for bringing suitable donors to our program.  Elite Donors is only interested in working with potential donors who are genuinely interested in donating their eggs.  The only way to ensure a donor is applying because of her own desire is to hear from that potential donor directly.  Therefore, Elite Donors does not offer any type of finder's fee and is unable to answer questions by interested third parties.  If you know someone who would make a good donor candidate, please refer them to this website.

5.

IF I HAVE APPLIED THROUGH ELITE DONORS BEFORE, DO I NEED TO APPLY AGAIN?

Elite Donors does not maintain an active database or registry of potential donors.  Each search undertaken by Elite Donors is unique and personalized to the desires of our current client(s).  Therefore, if you are not selected for our current search, you would need to re-apply once a new search began.  Elite Donors recommends that you bookmark our website and check back every 3-4 months.

6.

WHAT DOES BEING AN EGG DONOR ENTAIL?

Elite Donors is not a medical facility and can not give medical advice.  We highly recommend that any woman interested in donating her eggs talk to her own gynecologist or doctor to get individualized information for her particular situation.

That being said, applying to be an egg donor through Elite Donors entails completing a highly detailed questionnaire which supplies information about you and your family's background.  Once your information is reviewed, applicants who seem to be good candidates for the particular search being run are likely to be asked to fill out a supplemental questionnaire which attempts to get to know the donor on a more personal level, asking questions about life perceptions and personal goals.  The next step in the process would entail a brief psychological screening and medical exam.

The woman who is selected to be the donor would then begin the actual medical process of becoming a donor.  During normal ovulation, a woman releases one mature egg.  The selected donor will be put on a series of hormone treatments to stimulate her ovaries in hopes of producing numerous mature eggs.  The hormone treatments can be self-administered at home and will continue for approximately 10 days.  During the donation cycle, you will have several blood tests and ultrasound examinations to track the developing eggs and to monitor your response to the hormones. All tests will be coordinated around the chosen donor's schedule.  Once the eggs are mature the donor will receive a final injection to prepare the eggs for retrieval. Thirty-six hours later, the eggs are retrieved through the vagina with an ultrasound-guided needle. The egg retrieval is generally done in the morning as an outpatient procedure using local anesthetic.  The procedure itself is short, approximately 30 minutes however you will have a short recovery period in the office while the anesthetic wears off before being released to go home. You can generally resume your normal activities the following day.

7.

WILL I GET TO MEET THE CLIENT?

This depends on your desire and the desire of our client(s).  Each situation is different and while some clients very much wish to personally meet their egg donors, others prefer they remain anonymous.  Elite Donors will work with our clients and potential donors to find the right match of preferences.  Our application will allow you to indicate your position of this matter.

8.

WHAT TYPE OF CLIENTS DO YOU REPRESENT?

Elite Donors protects the confidentiality of our clients and all potential donors. While most of our searches are undertaken for happily married heterosexual couples, Elite Donors does not discriminate when representing clients.  Therefore, there is the potential that any given search could be an attempt to find a donor for a homosexual couple or a hetero or homosexual single.  In addition, the ethnicities and religious backgrounds of our clients vary.  Because Elite Donors does not reveal personal information about our clients to prospective donors until an extensive amount of background information has been collected from the potential donor, please make sure to specify on your application any preferences you may have.

9.

ARE YOU TRYING TO GENETICALLY ENGINEER THE PERFECT CHILD?

In a word, no.  Our clients typically desire to use donors who share the same characteristics of the other members of their family.  In some cases this means they are looking for tall, fair skinned donors.  Other times the search may be for an athletic donor or a donor who is mathematically gifted.  While our clients generally seek donors who display similar characteristics to their family members, our clients genuinely desire to have a child and will love any resulting child regardless.

10.

WHAT DOCTORS DO YOU USE?

Elite Donors works with a variety of doctors and professionals depending on each specific situation.  If you are selected as a donor, you will have access to the specifics of each doctor who will be involved in your donation process before you begin.

11.

DO I NEED A LAWYER?

If you are selected and agree to become an egg donor for one of our clients, you will need to retain a lawyer or other counsel to review the Donation Contract.  Each selected donor will be provided with sufficient funds with which to retain her own counsel.  While the contract is straight forward, Elite Donors can not act as a donor's legal counsel and an independent, third party review of the material is in everyone's best interest so there is never any confusion or misunderstandings.

12.

IF I AM SELECTED CAN I CHANGE MY MIND?

Absolutely.  Elite Donors hopes that all potential donors would give the utmost consideration to a decision to donate before applying.  However, Elite Donors also understands that people's situations and opinions can change and would never want a woman to make such an important decision if she was not sure of herself.  Please keep in mind however, that when our client(s) select a donor, they have invested a lot of time, money and heart in the experience.  A donor backing out at the last minute will cause great disappointment and heartache.

13.

WHAT HAPPENS TO EGGS THAT ARE RETRIEVED AND NOT USED?

It is quite customary for the doctors to remove more eggs from a donor than will be implanted in the recipient mother or surrogate.  Many clients freeze the remaining eggs in case the first round does not produce a fertilized egg.  Before agreeing to become an egg donor, the donor and our clients will come to an agreement regarding any unused eggs.

14.

WHEN DO I GET PAID?

A small amount of compensation will be paid upon the signing of an agreement and the remainder of the agreed compensation shall be paid following a completed egg retrieval procedure.  This will all be clearly spelled out in a written agreement.  The compensation is not dependent on a successful pregnancy resulting from the retrieved eggs.

15.

WHAT ARE MY OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES?

There are absolutely no fees or expenses ever incurred by a potential donor or a selected donor.  Elite Donors will see that all expenses are covered including any necessary travel expenses. When applying to be an egg donor through any program, you should never have to pay any money out of pocket.

16.

DO YOU ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM POTENTIAL DONORS THAT ARE NOT RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES AND/OR ARE NOT U.S. CITIZENS?

We are able to accept applications from around the world.  However, acceptance of your application does not mean that we can or will use you as an egg donor.  If the intended parents are interested in using you, we will have to research the laws and regulations of your country to see is selecting you as an egg donor is a viable option.
