Elite Donors is a personalized egg donor
search program representing one family
at a time. Elite Donors essentially
began in 2000 when the Roberts wanted to
expand their family, but were unable to
do so in the traditional way. The
Roberts had already invested a
substantial amount of time and money
researching existing egg donor programs
and found that what existed did not meet
their needs. While the Roberts
appreciated the assistance offered to
families by existing donor programs,
they found them to be slightly
impersonal. The Roberts had concerns
about confidentiality both for their
family and for the potential donors who
were often a part of huge donor
databases. The Roberts also questioned
the quality of the applicants and the
screening process that resulted in such
large numbers of applicants being made
available to choose from.
The Roberts approached their family
attorney and discussed their options
with him. The attorney was so moved by
their struggles that he sat down with
his office manager Michelle White to
brainstorm a way to help. What resulted
from that brainstorming session was the
beginning of what is today Elite
Donors. Ms. White worked closely with
the Roberts to create an advertising
campaign that would catch the attention
of suitable donors. Each donor
applicant was personally screened by Ms.
White and those who most closely met the
desired criteria were then screened by
the Roberts. The Roberts family was
able to have confidence that their
personal information would be kept
confidential from the majority of
applicants and that the donors sent to
them for review would be women who were
currently ready, able and willing to
assist them in expanding their family.
Potential donors were also afforded a
new level of privacy as their personal
information was destroyed when they were
eliminated from the search instead of
being stored in a database for future
use. Ms. White found a wonderful
network of doctors who were instrumental
in screening the top applicants and
making sure they were mentally and
physically able to donate. The search
paid off with the ideal donor being
selected and the subsequent birth of two
children! The Roberts were extremely
grateful for the help provided by Ms.
White.
It was not long before news of the
success of this program spread and
another client was knocking on the door
asking for help. At that point, Ms.
White decided that she really enjoyed
helping the Roberts create their family
and that she would like to offer her
uniquely created program to other
intended parents on a permanent basis.
Although the opportunity has arisen to
help numerous clients simultaneously,
Elite Donors will only help one
family/client at a time so that the
utmost time and attention can be given
to each search. Ms. White and her staff
work closely with clients to make sure
each search is customized to their
specific needs and that each client
receives personal and individualized
service.
In addition to spending the last decade
learning the ins and outs of egg
donation, Ms.White has a background in
sociology from the University of
Southern California and 15 years
experience in the legal field.
